Have Small Successes Daily To Get More Done

“The to success is list building.”, “The key to success is traffic and conversions.”

Those are important keys, but what really lies under it all is how we spend our time when we sit down to work on the computer to achieve a bigger email list or get higher conversions.

In a word – PRODUCTIVITY.

Because when you work at home, it’s a battle to stay focused and get real work done!

Working at home needs you to be self-motivated, and more so, self-disciplined.

Here is a productivity hack you can apply to your work habits to get your day started right and set yourself up for success that day.

I find in my own work, the days when I start out doing an income-generating task first, I stay focused and have a very productive work day.

On the other hand, the days when I lazily check email first thing while flicking between Facebook are some of the most unproductive days.

There is one other very important point to staying productive – and that is to have a PLAN.

The simplest form of a plan is your to-do list, but the more detailed you can make your plan, the better you can manage your time.

The advantages of planning are expansive. The bigger and more detailed your plan, the greater things you can achieve. You can either pan for success, or plan for failure by not planning.

Get a plan, get a good start to your days so you can power on through and achieve your goals!

Checklist For Using PLR To Create Your Own Unique Product

My GOODNESS, I love PLR! Whoever invested the concept of licencing is a genius and I want to shake his hand. (or hers).

To tell the truth, I’m one of the laziest marketers you may ever meet. That isn’t to say that I don’t do anything. I do actually get a lot done – but I’m lazy. I like to work smarter and not harder.

That’s one of the major reasons why I love buying products with PLR. If you’re unfamiliar with PLR – it stands for ‘Private Label rights’. Meaning that if you own the PLR, you have the permission to completely brand and sell the products as your own.

So in short, PLR = instant product.

Plr is a massive shortcut to product creation. The product is already created, you can simply re-name it, call it yours and sell the crap out of it. Perfect for lazy marketers like me.

Business is a numbers game. The more products you can have out there in the market place, the more income and customers you can attract. By using PLR, you can simply get more products out faster.

I use plr quite extensively for a lot of my products I sell and content I give away (this article however is written by yours truly), simply because I can create more products and sell more in a shorter time. I like product creation, but I much prefer selling!

3-sell-more-ebooks

My business seriously would NOT be around today if it wasn’t for good quality PLR products. I find PLR products from a bunch of sources. I find them in the WF WSO section through to receiving emails from plr vendors.

Once you buy one plr product, you can usually find a lot of different plr offers because the marketers and product creators like to promote each others offers.

So I love to check out all kinds of plr offers. I have a problem though. And I know others have the same problem too.

That is, I buy too much PLR. We always have the intention to modify it and sell it asap but when life and other things in business get in the way, the products seem to pile up.

I have to manage my time so I can set up the PLR and get the product out the door, so I can turn it into some cash instead of leaving it doing nothing on my hard-drive.

Here’s my simplified cheat-sheet for setting up plr products and selling it fast…

1. The product MUST be high-quality. No matter if you’re giving it away or selling it. You just can’t be flogging junk products. Of course you can and should edit and re-write any part you want to make the product as best as you can. It’s just a huge time-saver to start with quality plr.

2. The product MUST be in demand. It’s no good to sell something that people just don’t want.

3. Re-write the sales letter. I re-write sales letters myself as I know a thing or two about copywriting. If you can’t or just don’t have time, hire a copywriter. Most PLR products come with lousy sales letters that just don’t convert. A good sales letter is essential.

4. A new product graphic. Screw getting a whole new minisite design. You can splash out and get a slick new design from top to tail but you don’t need one. You can get away with a Fiverr gig for a new ecover.

5. Add bonuses to your front end offer. This is a given but bonuses increase sales like crazy. I use PLR products for bonuses too.

6. Add Upsells and Downsells to your funnel. Your upsells/downsells have to be related and provide extra on what you’re selling on the front end. A well thought-out funnel can double or triple your revenue.

7. Set it up on a shopping cart system that is easy to use. I use Zaxaa now almost exclusively after trying several different solutions. You can simply just use a plain-Jane Paypal button to take payments and deliver your download to your customer.

8. Keep pumping out products! This really is the key to building your business. The more order buttons you have out here in cyber space, the more chances you have of making sales. I keep my sniffer out for new PLR and resell rights products that I can set up or add to my funnels.

Using PLR really is the lazy man’s online business. Like I mentioned in the beginning of the article, I love PLR because the products are already done, meaning I can get more products out faster. For step-by-step details on how to set up and sell your PLR products fast like I do, I recommend the PLR Paydirt video training course.

So what are you waiting for? Use these steps to start pumping out and selling more products fast, the lazy way using your Plr!

Hidden Free Traffic Source

No one is talking about this free traffic source. It’s the Warrior forum blog. If you’ve got a Warrior forum account, you’ve got a blog you can post articles to.

Remember article ‘Bum’ marketing? Where you posted articles to Ezine articles and made Squidoo lenses and you got all that free Search traffic?

Guess what, that kind of traffic is still out there!

Warrior Forum is a PR4 site – so Google loves it. Google indexes Warrior Forum pages like there is no tomorrow.

If you’re posting unique content on your WF blog, no doubt Google will pick it up and your posts will get views, just like mine have over the years. (note to self: I posted these articles years ago! I need to post more!)

warriorforumblogtraffic

The numbers are a bit hard to see in this screen shot, but I’ve had 1493 views on one article.

The other posts are around the same 1000 view mark!

How does this equate to traffic?

Just like the ‘Bum’ marketing method, you put your links back to your website inside the article.

You can add hyperlinked images and of course text anywhere inside your article.

There are no restrictions (that I’m aware of) about what you can post on your WF blog.

You’ll get a percentage of readers clicking through to your website from these links.

I’ve not tracked the number of clicks to my websites so I can’t tell you the exact numbers.

The number of clicks you get to your website will depend on where your links are and what they look like.

And of course, how relevant your website is to the content that you’re posting.

So to break it down into steps, here’s how to get traffic from your WF blog.

1. Create a free account at Warrior Forum if you haven’t got one yet

2. Go to http://www.warriorforum.com/blogs/YOURUSERNAME/

3. Click the “Post to your blog” link in the left sidebar

WFposttoblog

4. Post something awesome to your WF blog!

Keyword research and all that is important. If you’re relying on Google to send you the traffic, then yes, do your Keyword research!

Don’t dismiss the traffic flowing through from Warrior Forum itself though. The WF is a traffic powerhouse. If you’re active in the Forum discussions, a percentage of the traffic will click through to your profile and check out your posts and blog entries.

What I love about this traffic is that it’s set and forget. It’s free targeted traffic that will trickle in for years like it has already been doing.

It’s not going to get you an instant flood so if that’s what you’re looking for, you’d better try buying some PPC or email traffic.

It’s a long-term method, but as you can see, it works. Try it out!

Stuart Stirling

p.s. This is not just limited to the Warrior Forum and the ‘internet marketing’ niche. I’m positive that you can use this free traffic method in ANY niche where there is an authoritative forum.

Squeeze Page Split Test Results Round TWO!

A couple of weeks ago I posted some results of a very surprising split test with my weight loss list building campaign.

After finding the winner of that split test, I decided to run a new split test with the winner of that going against another squeeze page.

Again, two completely different pages, but essentially offering the same thing.

Here are the results of Test 2 for you to check out and analyze!!

THE TEST

The New Skool Squeeze Page (2-Step Optin Form)

Winner of Test 1, Made with 1 Minute Sites

splittestTWOnewskool

VERSUS

Old Skool SIMPLE Squeeze Page

Winner of Test 2, made with a free HTML editor and a stock image!

splittestTWOsimple

I used Ad Trackz Gold again to run my split test. I love that tool.

splittest_results_2nd_test

This again surprised me because it was the exact same traffic as I was getting for the first test.

I was running the same ads on the same PPC network.

Another interesting factor is that the winner of this test (SIMPLE old skool page) is NOT mobile optimized whereas the New skool made with 1 Minute Sites is.

I guess for a simple page like this, it still looks reasonably good on a mobile device so it still converted on mobile traffic.

The BIG HEADLINE really stands out no matter which device you use to look at it.

Why am I showing you my results?

I’m not worried if you copy these pages. Heck I don’t even mind if you copy them word for word, but if you do, TEST other versions and keep testing  until you find something that beats these! It probably won’t be very hard. These pages literally took me minutes to create.

I find it fascinating to see the results of split testing and this data is PRICELESS. Marketing is a numbers game so if you can pump up the numbers you’re going to me making more $$$.

Of course there are other immeasurable factors that go into marketing success, but for the most part, get the numbers right and you’ll have success.

Let me know your thoughts, questions and comments below!

You can see the results from the first split test here if you haven’t done so yet.

Surprising Results! Results From My Squeeze Page Split Test

For the past year, I was running an ugly old skool squeeze page my Weight loss site.

Ugly graphics, the works. You can see it below.

I recently decided to fire back up some traffic to my weight loss squeeze pages because I want to focus on building my list bigger in that niche again.

Everyone Loves Split Testing!

Seeing how split testing is “all the rage” right now (it has been forever actually) I pulled my finger out and created a nice, sleek new skool squeeze page using 1 minute sites to run against my old template.

The whole purpose of split testing is to find the better converting page. In this case, I wanted to find the best converting squeeze page so I would get the most subscribers from my advertising (traffic) dollars.

Here’s a preview of the two pages I split tested.

New skool template is on the top. I used 1 minute sites to create it in literally a couple of minutes. It’s one of those flashy 2-step optin pages when the user clicks the button and an optin form pops up.

The old skool one looks like it was made in 2007 (it probably was). The template came from a PLR package. I just modified the copy and slapped my optin form code on it.

THE TEST

OLD SKOOL VS. NEW SKOOL

splittest

As with any split test I run, I had no idea which would convert better.

Sometimes you can get a pretty close prediction, but no-one ever does know which page will convert better until you test it.

I was actually thinking the old skool one would convert better.

But to my surprise the new skool template converted almost TWICE AS BETTER!

And the winner is….

optin page split test

The loser was the old skool template.. so guess what I’m doing with that?! It’s going in the recycle bin.

loser

I used Ad Trackz Gold to run the split test. Here are the detailed numbers…

splittest_results

To be honest, I only started split testing and tracking stuff about 18 months ago. Big rookie mistake (that I was committing for almost 5 years! doh!)

TIP: If you’re serious about your business, you’ve got to track and split test too – unless you like throwing money down the toilet.

Why such a big difference in conversion rates?

I am not entirely sure. The copy is almost the same. The headline on the new page has the word FREE in it. That could have made a difference.

My biggest suspicion is that the new skool squeeze page I made with 1 minute sites is MOBILE RESPONSIVE (optimized for mobile… it looks great on a mobile phone or tablet.) whereas the old skool template is not.

Especially in the weight loss crowd I was targeting, the majority of traffic was coming from mobile. (mobile traffic is crushing it no matter what niche)

My ads were running on all platforms (desktop & mobile) and I wasn’t able (or I just don’t know how to) segment my ads to use both separately.

In other ads in the weight loss niche I’ve run on Facebook, (the test above wasn’t using FB, but another PPC ad network) about 800% more traffic came from mobile.

The short story, YOU MUST HAVE mobile responsive page if you want a good conversion rate. That’s a great thing about 1 minute sites which I used to create the New skool squeeze page.

You hear talk from marketers saying this is better and you should do this, but one thing I’ve learned is that you just never know how well a page will convert until you test it.

Marketing is not some magic voodoo thing that only the ‘lucky’ can succeed at. It’s a numbers game largely. It takes a little extra work to run tests, but you really need to if you want to succeed.

Leave your thoughts and comments below.

Perfectionism Kills Productivity

I was chatting with a customer a while back
and he was telling me about two info-products
he’s been working on for around 6 months.

He still he isn’t ready to release them and show
them to the world yet because they’re not perfect.

I said, “They’ll never be perfect, so don’t wait.
Just get them out there.”

All this time that he’s hiding his products is
just wasting time.

It’s time that he could be making sales and building a customer
list who he could ask for feedback on the product.

The customer would be perfectly happy with the products
as they are but could offer advice or ideas for improvements.

Don’t waste time trying to make things perfect.

If you’re waiting for things to be perfect, you’ll
be waiting a long time. Too long.

One of my favorite slogans is “Money Loves Speed”.

Fast decisions and fast implementation is when you can
create great income.

I’m a copywriter also, and to me a sales letter is never
perfect but I get it to a stage that I’m happy with
and then send it off to my client for review and
see what comes back. Even the final draft is
never quite perfect. But it looks ‘good enough’
and works ‘well enough’ so I and my client are happy.

You could apply the same method with your thinking.

Don’t worry if you don’t know how to do everything
perfectly before you start. You don’t need to have
the perfect ‘plan’ before you start taking action.

You’ve got to find that ‘middle ground’ where
you can say ‘It’s good enough’ and then just
go for it.

The worst thing you can do it be like my customer
above with his products – nothing. His products are
complete but they and he are standing still.

If you’re not moving up, you’re moving down.

Start doing something, anything – to get you
moving up and one step closer to finishing your project
or releasing your project. Maybe there is just one
little thing that is holding you back. A technical
issue or something else. Fix it somehow, and get it
out the door..

Start moving to get momentum going.

Keep the momentum going by doing a little everyday,
even if it’s not the absolutely perfect thing to be doing.

Eventually, you’ll automatically get better
at choosing the best things to do to achieve your goals.

If it keeps you moving forward it’s good enough.

Do You Have What It Takes To Be Successful In MLM?

I guess another title for the article could be “The truth about MLM”.

If you’re reading this, then you’re probably in a MLM or thinking about getting in one.. maybe just interested in making money and looking for options. An ‘MLM business opportunity’ looks like a good way to go, but is it? Do you have what it takes to succeed?

The typical MLM biz opp looks like the ultimate way to get started online. Attractive compensation plans, people already making crazy money riving sports cars and living in mansions. It appears easy to earn big bucks, so it’s no wonder that a lot of beginners jump at the chance to earn passive income

But the truth about MLM (and actually all business) is that it takes a lot of work behind the scenes to become successful.

Successful network marketers only show you the good stuff – the results, the big checks they get on stage, the vacations they take, the cars they (probably hardly ever) drive. What they don’t show you is the hard, long working hours they put in to grow their business.

Do you have what it takes to be a successful MLMer?

The way you earn in MLM is to recruit people into your team, and buy the products through your referral link.

It’s funny how some people get into a MLM and think they will start earning without doing anything.  They think that just paying the monthly membership fee to run their business is going to make them rich.

Nah-ahh – sorry but just paying the monthly fee won’t make you rich. You still have to recruit! You still have to advertise, get traffic and sell the business!

So if you’re thinking of getting into MLM and exptecting a golden path all the way to the bank, you’ll be extremely disappointed.

Understand that being in a MLM is not a cushy ride where people magically sign up under you while you’re sipping latte’s and cocktails on the beach. To be a top MLM networker, you have to promote, promote, promote.

Another myth is that if your sponsor will do all the work for you. I know some sponsors get you in by promising they’ll recruit and build your downline for you. Don’t fall for that one. It’s the oldest trick in the MLM book.

A little about my experience in MLM

I’m in a couple of ‘biz opps’ (MLMs) Empower Network and Pure Leverage – and I’ve seen a fair bit of success with them. I’ve already earned thousands of dollars in each business and keep earning passive income through them.

My results don’t come automatically though, and not without a lot of perseverance. I do have a lot of experience with internet marketing, and in particular the “make money online” niche so I know how to get traffic and how to convert traffic.

Those are actually the keys right there. Getting traffic and converting it. That’s the formula for any internet business, MLM or not.

A couple of big things I help me recruit are my own downline builder websites. I made a (actually two – 30Minutelist.com and Viralbuilder.com ) unique system which I promote that automatically promote my MLMs for me.

The great thing is that my members can use my systems too to promote and build their business (power of duplication).

Creating these unique systems gives me an edge… it’s how I can position myself as a leader, a professional marketer and automate the promotion of my MLMs.

This is a pretty advanced and long way to go about it – but my hard work is paying off.

So does this mean you have to go out and create your own unique sites too?

Well, if you want to compete with the big boys – yes I highly recommend it! You will get an edge over the competition.

You need to set up and promote something unique that brands you, and positions you as an expert and leader.

Otherwise you’re just another username promoting the same squeeze page and banners that your MLM provides you and the thousands of other marketers trying to sell the same thing.

It doesn’t have to be a full blown downline builder like I’ve set up, but  they do work wonderfully.

If you just want something simple but still a site that is unique, I recommend the bare minimum you do is set up a unique squeeze page and blog on your own domain name that promotes you and lets you have your own voice to share your tips, thoughts and sell your business.

The fail rate in MLM is staggering.. I don’t know the exact figures but I would guess that maybe 99 out of 100 will never make a dime in one. That’s because the 99 are all doing the same thing. Which is usually nothing or making a weak effort to promote using the same old websites that don’t do a good job of selling or branding you.

The ones making the money in MLM, and they do exist, are the ones stepping above the crowd and doing something that gets people to stop and take notice. That’s what it takes to succeed in MLM. Can you do it? You can if you decide to do it.

It will be a little uncomfortable. You will have to step outside of your comfort zone but you will be among the ones making money. The magic happens when you step outside of you comfort zone.

What are you doing today to step outside of your comfort zone and aim higher?

Stuart Stirling
