Weekend Assignment

This may be the best bit of advice I have given you in a long time so please read this entire post.

But first, let me ask you a question?

“How many courses or ebooks on ‘how to make money’ have you bought this year, this month or this week which you haven’t finished or worse, not even started yet?”

I myself am guilty of starting and not finishing of one or two courses.. and I have a feeling that many of you are the same.

One of the things I hate is to waste money. If I buy a course or a product, I have to use it. If I don’t, I’ll be angry at myself.

So, I’m creating a challenge for myself this weekend and I want you to take on this challenge too.

Here it is…

“This weekend, commit to finishing that course or ebook that you haven’t completed yet.. or even started yet.

You’ll know the one to choose. It will be the one that you always say to yourself, ‘I’ll get around to it.”

Well, NOW is the time to get around to it!

If it contains more hours of material than the 48 hours, then get through as much as possible the next two days.

If you don’t finish it by Monday, commit to continue through next week until you do.

That means you’re going to have to take real control of yourself. No distractions, no checking email 50 times a day, not even working on your biz.

You may be tempted to try out what you just learned, but try to hold off until you complete the material.

The reason is that you might find some extra info on how to do it better if you go through all of the content before you implement.

Put it all on hold and just go through the course.

Think of it as going to a live seminar in your house. All your attention needs to go to studying.

After finishing your course, I’m positive you’ll walk away with two things…

1) You’ll have an awesome feeling of accomplishment

2) You’ll have gained knowledge that you can use to better grow your business.

I am taking this challenge too this weekend, so we can work on this challenge together.

So what do you say? Are you in?

To your success,

Stu Sensei Stirling

p.s. If you don’t mind telling me and others, what course or ebook do you have burning a hole in hard drive that you are going to commit to completing this weekend?

    Hi Stuart,

Thanks a lot for the video showing how to get organized.  That is just what I needed.  I have so many things downloaded, it’s hard to keep up with them.  I can’t even remember them all.

    Thanks again,
    Jerri

This is great advice. I’ve got to get through Safelist Marketing Tactics. It’s one of the first I downloaded and never got around to, and one I keep thinking about.

I haven’t found one that would work for me so I’m still looking ______what do you have?

  • trevor on July 29, 2011

    Hi Stuart

You are correct and I have to admit that I have several half completed courses and loads of half finished tasks. I decided a few days ago to start “unsubscribing” to lots of marketers as I was spending hours per day going through emails. You are on my keep list. Regards Trevor

Thanks Trevor! Staying in control of your inbox is one secret to getting more done.

This is the best advice I’ve received in a long time. –

David Schwartz pointed out that decisions made in “managed solitude” have a habit of being right.I’m planning on a bit of managed solitude for this weekend, focusing on my writing.David J Schwartz said, “Belief is the thermostat that regulate what we accomplish in life.”Since I do not have an unfinished book to read, at the moment, I’m going to focus on my writing with a straightforward belief that this time of managed solitude will be profitable.

    Hi Stu,

Nice of you to ask to show the challenge so that one can become answerable. I commit to complete Traffic generation 101 course without distractions. Will post back when I am done.
    Thanks

I am going through “Website Launch Blueprint” and it’s amazing. It’s a true blueprint to do everything right from the ground up and rank on page 1. After launch there’s a 30 day plan to follow, so I won’t finish it over the weekend, but I’m well into the research and planning. I have my keywords, checked competition and registered the domain name. I’m definitely committed to this project. Your post could not have come at a better time for me. I’m really pumped now. Thanks!

    • Stuart Stirling on July 30, 2011

Hi Gail, that sounds like a great course. Stay committed to doing it for the full 30 days! Keep me informed with your progress on it.

  • Stuart Stirling on July 29, 2011

oopps almost forgot.. I suppose I’d better tell you what course(s) I’m gonna conquer this weekend.. 😉
Jay Abraham’s “Get Everything New” ebook… then if I have time left over.. finish Dr Schwartz’s “The Magic Of Thinking Big” paperback book. gonna be a good weekend!

  • Charles Lamm on July 29, 2011

Good timing.  I have a weekend with no distractions.  Time to view the videos.
