It’s hard to sell anything to anyone when you’re a nobody! Even as an affiliate (or if selling your own products), if you’re lacking authority or are simply unknown to the customer, you’re going to have a very hard time trying to sell anything.
Without a name and reputation, your audience’s skepticism sensor is running at maximum power. If they can’t see any social proof to check to see if you’re a legit marketer, they will find it very hard to trust you enough to buy from you. This is one of the biggest hurdles new affiliate marketers face.
If you want people to buy from you, they must first trust you.
Here’s a 3-step method for going from a “nobody” to a “somebody” in your niche in less than 30 days.
In this method that I’m about to lay out for you, you don’t need a website, but you will need to build some online properties. They’re free to build these so you can keep your wallet in your pocket.
The first step
The first step is to already have your niche decided and know your audience well. You have to know what they’re desperately trying to fix. The more desperate they are, the easier it will be to sell them something. You also need to already know the product that you’re selling and that this product will solve the problem of your target audience.
The next step
Next is to join Medium.com. Medium is a major blogging platform. It is the most popular blogging platform in 2022 with over 200M visitors a month, and looks like it will continue to grow in the coming year. On Medium, you want to set up your profile as though you are already an expert in this niche, even if you don’t think you are yet. Then you’re going to start writing and publishing articles on your Medium profile.
The great thing about Medium is that you can add affiliate links inside your articles. Whatever you do, post only articles related to your niche and only link to sites that are related! You must keep it focused. If you post interesting articles regularly, you’ll start to gain a following. Followers get notifications every time you post a new article.
This is a great free way to generate traffic and gain a name for yourself. In the articles, gently lead into recommendations for your product that you’re selling and add your link.
Finally
Finally, create social profiles on all the major social sites like Youtube, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Tiktok etc. Do not use your personal profiles for this method.
If you don’t have any social profiles for your niche yet and must choose one, the easiest and best is Facebook, so start there. The best would be to create a new account using either your real name or a pen name. On these social profiles, you want to post links to your medium articles.
But in between medium posts, you need to be sharing tips and general information so you can get some interaction. Remember to keep it focused. If you’re in the ‘dog training‘ niche, post content on dog training. If you’re in the ‘vegetable garden’ niche, only post content about vegetable garden. The idea here is to publish helpful tips, engage with your audience and send traffic to your articles on Medium.com
The key is to post something on Medium at least 3 times a week!
It’s hard to post every day. So instead, work at posting every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Try to post on your social profile(s) the other days. It may seem like a lot of work, but realistically, anyone with a spare hour a day can do this. Your articles don’t need to be long or perfectly written; they just need to be easy-to-read, punchy, and deliver a nugget of information.
Try this method out for 30 days. You will be able to build a name for yourself and get traffic. It’s a completely free method, but it will cost you about one hour a day. It’s perfect if you’re a beginner affiliate marketer or you’re selling your own product.
