6 Steps To Concrete Your Success In 2010

6 Steps To Concrete Your Success In 2010

I love how the new year always brings a special refreshed feeling of energy, determination and ideas for making the new year better than the last.

I’m really excited about 2010, and you should be too!

Each one of us has a spotless 365 days ahead of us — now 361 days left — to plan and achieve the goals for a better life, better business, better health for ourselves and those around us.

The future is glistening white and the choice is 100% up to you what you want to do with yours.

Life, much like business, is a constant journey of discovery and learning. We should never stop, because there is always something new around every corner.

I love this quote because it reminds me that we are in control of our future…

“The choices we make and the chances we take, determine our destiny.” – Author Unknown

Sometimes the choices we make take us down the wrong track…mistakes are hard to avoid, but the important thing is to quickly recognize the mistake and get back on the right path.

There are many principles for success in life and business and I want to share a few I always live by and I encourage you to adopt any you like into your life and business.

1. A Positive Mind Set – You Can Do It! It all starts with this. If your mind set is not positive, you can’t move forward. Negativity will always hold you back. Your limitations are only bound by your imagination, so don’t hold back, anything is possible when you set your mind and body to it.

2. A Precise Step-by-Step Plan – As the famous proverb goes: “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” A plan gives us a guide to follow. It gives us clarity. The more detailed and precise it is, the easier and faster you can achieve it.

3. Taking Action – Procrastination is a big success stopper for the majority of business owners and entrepreneurs. You need to avoid distraction and set aside time to focus and work your plan. Don’t forget to set deadlines on each action plan and to also plan to give yourself rewards along the way.

4. Develop Skills – We are in business because we can help people in certain areas we have skill in. We should be ever trying to develop our skills or attain more so we can keep helping people and in turn help ourselves. Often, it’s the teacher who learns the most.

5. Give More Than Expected – A huge principle for success in business and life is to remove greed and really over-deliver. Provide great value for money and quality products and services that will change peopel’s lives for the better. This is one of my favorite quites from Zig Ziglar:

“You can have everything in life that you want if you just give enough other people what they want.” – Zig Ziglar

6. Never Give Up – Success is guaranteed if you never stop. Just keep going towards your goal and never divert from the road leading to it. It may take longer than expected, but every little thing you do counts and takes you closer to achieving your dreams.

And remember, happiness is a journey not a destination. I’m looking forward to enjoying and growing everyday of this new year with you!

To a fantastically happy, healthy and successful 2010,
Stuart Stirling

Thanks a lot for reminding us of Zig Ziglar thoughts:
“You can have everything in life that you want if you just give enough other people what they want.” – Zig Ziglar
I like your post so much that I would love to post it in my blog, provided you are so kind as to let me to do that.

  3. Hi Stuart,

I like your planning ideas which I already implemented, using an offline diary that also serves as an alphabetical register of my numerous usernames and passwords. Now
I supplemented it with a year planner like you suggest!

As always you provide practical advice that is really useful. I hope you’ll continue on this path for our benefit!

  4. Thanks everyone for the comments!

Jackie- It takes effort to consciously be positive but it will come naturally after a while…just keep your mind on it. Creating a plan of action takes a little work but once it’s made, half of the hard work is already done…the other half is completing each step of your plan. But the more you break your plan down into little steps, the easier it is.

Woody- That’s awesome you found an old unused planner! I hope you’re using it already.

Norman- Thanks for your long time readership! Still many more things I have to share with you.

  6. Hey Stu,

Thanks for the organizational tips! I can sure use them. As a matter-of-fact, I rooted around in my desk and found an old day-planner (unopened) and put it to use! Thanks for a great 2009 and let’s hope 2010 is even better!

    Happy Trails,,,Woody

  7. Hi Stuart,

Thanks for your email and the 4 points to success. Incidently, I wrote a little book on “How to acquire Success.”

As the saying go; “A picture is worth more than a thousand words.” With that being said. I have read all the instructions on lenses and hub pages. and I am still in the dark.

What I really like to SEE is a sample of a published lense and a hub page.

I have written several novels and screenplays and I believe I have some subjects that would be interesting for your readers.

I look forward to seeing some samples and then I will get back to you and tell you about my subjects which is music. I have written a book on the History of the Blues, and The HIstory of Jazz.

It’s always a pleasure speaking with you.

    Have a good day.
No, make that be have a good year.

  8. Hi Stuart,
Thanks that is good solid advise to follow, especially at the start of the new Year!
I must confess that the bad habits creep back very fast and I am usually back to my disorganized self by the end of the day.
Well, then that when my new positive mind should kick in and and say that is ‘negative’, Jackie. ‘You can do it!’
Then I must remind myself to ‘Never to give up!’
I am so busy, trying to remember that I should be more organized, be more positive, develop more skills, give more than what is expected and to never give up that I forget what I was going to do! Oh yeah what were the other steps of advise that I should and could do?
Oh, but then I need to refer to my ‘plan of action’ and that should keep me on track to remind me what to do!
Okay, now where did I write down my ‘plan of action’, I need to find it first. Oh boy, I think my ‘plan of action’ will have to be all the above steps to remind me of them and to take action.
Thanks Sensei Stu, you are always a great help when I am in need of …’what was it that you helped me with?
I’ll have to get back to you, I have to check my ‘plan of action list’ to let you know what it was that you helped me with. I lost it, I’ll find it when I do I will take action to develop more skills and give more then what is expected of me!
Thank you Sensei, I will give it a try, but please don’t expect me not to be going in circles trying!
    C U!~Jackie
